Fans of high-octane action are in for a treat as Colombiana 2 brings Zoe Saldana back as Cataleya Restrepo, the unstoppable assassin, alongside Jason Statham, who joins the franchise as a formidable ally-turned-rival. The long-awaited sequel, directed by Olivier Megaton, is slated for release in summer 2025 and promises to elevate the franchise with more intense action and gripping drama. The sequel picks up years after the events of the original Colombiana (2011), with Cataleya having built a reputation as one of the world’s most elusive assassins. Despite her efforts to leave her violent past behind, she’s pulled back into the underworld when a high-stakes mission threatens the safety of someone close to her. Enter Jason Statham's character, Max Gallagher, a rogue MI6 operative whose goals align with hers—temporarily. “Cataleya is older, wiser, and more dangerous than ever,” Zoe Saldana said in a recent interview. “But this time, she’s up against someone who’s just as skilled and unpredictable.”
