Aston's Martin struggled during the F1 2025 season opener.
Aston Martin left Australia dejected, following a tough opening round that was saved by Lance Stroll, who finished down in sixth. The team completed testing as the seventh fastest, with Lance Stroll 10th on the timesheet, his double world champion teammate Fernando Alonso was 16th - with both laps set on day two with Pirelli’s C3s.

Aston Martin is under pressure to put a disastrously uncompetitive 2024 behind it, and goes into the new season with a reorganised green squad. One that sees former-Mercedes engine boss Andy Cowell, now its CEO, installed as team boss - demoting Mike Krack to chief trackside officer.

Aston Martin goes into Formula One’s second month long summer break with all the ingredients secured for future domination. The squad confirmed the sport’s ‘worst kept secret’ ahead of Azerbaijan, with design guru Adrian Newey striding into its press conference for the announcement that he will join the ambitious operation from March 2025 as its new managing technical partner.
