Venghai (Tamil: வேங்கை; English: Leopard) is a 2011 Tamil action-masala film directed by Hari, starring Dhanush and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead roles. The story is based in Sivagangai district. The film started its shooting in November 2010 at Trichy, and released on 8 July 2011.
Plot
The story of ‘Venghai’ starts with an elegant village background. Veerapandi (Raj Kiran) is the landlord respected by the people in Pandipuram village that belongs to SivaGangai district. Selvam (Dhanush) is his son who respects and obeys’ his father. Rajalingam (Prakash Raj) is the local MLA who asusual promises to do good to the people but he does all illegal activities. At one stage he wants to sweep away Raj Kiran and get his place. Selvam wants to stop Prakash Raj and fight against him to save his father and people. Meanwhile Veerapandi send Selvam to Trichy. There he meets Radhika(Tamannah) and falls in love with her. The remaining story deals with how Dhanush saves his father and people from Veerapandi? Whether he succeeds his love life??? ..... more
