When we heard about an electronic gizmo that claims to be able to save up to 10% in fuel costs, we wanted to put it to the test. In this video, Graham uses our Skoda Superb crew car to see if the £45 Viabtor actually works. For more videos, news and reviews go to http://fwd.five.tv/fifth-gear
We from VIABTOR would like to say Special Thanks to Fifth Gear & Channel Five (UK)
BUT: the following needs to be considered:
1 - When running at a constant speed for say 50-100 miles the car runs at 2000 to 3000 rpm the alternator keeps a good control of the voltage levels
2 - when you stop-start (traffic lights) slow down, change gear at low or high revs,
I.E. your every day driving habits this creates strain on the voltage supply.
3 - General appliances plugged in like GPS units, mobile phones, hands free, radio/CD, air conditioning/heater etc. place added stress on the voltage supply as well.
If the same test had been done in the city center there would have been a much higher saving.
