Flooding across Australia's northeast is continuing to cause chaos and shows no sign of abating.
The country's now recorded its wettest spring, causing six major river systems in Queensland state to burst their banks.
An area bigger than France and Germany combined has been affected, with some 22 towns across the state inundated, leaving some 200,000 people stranded.
Prime Minister Julia Gillard has been touring some of the areas hit by the worst floods Australia's experienced in about 50 years.

A hot mic caught Vladimir Putin telling Xi Jinping that human organs can be continuously transplanted, and that living long enough might even mean achieving immortality. Now, Russia is reportedly pouring $26 billion into anti-aging research, including growing human organs inside genetically modified mini pigs, all overseen by a scientist obsessed with scanning Egyptian mummies. But this obsession with cheating death isn't new. Russian leaders have spent the better part of a century trying to achieve some form of eternal life, and their efforts have left behind some genuinely bizarre history. So how far back does Russia's quest for immortality actually go, and how much of it is really about the people, versus the man at the top?

This week, Americans head to the polls in what could be one of the most consequential elections in modern American history.
From Washington DC to Mississippi, South Carolina, New York, Tennessee and Colorado, Four Corners reporter Mark Willacy investigates whether the greatest threat to the elections comes from within the Trump administration itself.
Donald Trump may not be on the ballot, but the election is a referendum on his presidency. With his approval rating at a record low, Trump is rallying his MAGA base, warning of electoral fraud and impeachment if the Democrats take control of Congress. Former Trump insiders are sounding the alarm over efforts to undermine confidence in the vote, including the prospect of ICE agents being deployed at polling places. Their warning: a desperate president could go to extraordinary lengths to cling to power.
