Trying to escape the haunting and save their son, they move again only to realize that it was not their house that was haunted.

The screenplay is written by Leigh Whannell, and the film is directed by James Wan. The film was shot in Los Angeles in early 2010. The film was originally called The Further. This name was then changed to The Astral, before the name Insidious was eventually settled on. The film was shown at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival.
