Iberian Lynx; (Spanish) Programa de Conservación + 148%

It is nice to hear some good news for a change - Europe´s only surviving wildcat is making a strong recovery in Andalucia Southern Spain.

The Iberian Lynx during the last 12 months have increased by 30. It is estimated that there are some 253 lynxes roaming the Donana National Park (which borders the Atlantic) and in the hills of Andujar and Jaen.

This increase is 148% since the year 2002 when there were only 102 Iberian Lynxes in the area. It is estimate that if the female population reaches 105 then the Iberian Lynx could be taken off the critically endangered species list.
