http://www.euronews.net/ Former president of Ivory Coast Laurent Gbagbo arrived in the Netherlands on Wednesday after prosecutors for the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued a warrant for his arrest.

The investigation relates to rapes, killings and other abuses committed during a four month conflict. The violence was triggered by Gbagbo's refusal to cede power to Alassane Ouattera who won last year's presidential election.

Gbagbo will be the first former head of state to be tried by the ICC since its creation in 2002.
