The castle is a very beautiful historical monument and the style is typical of medieval fortresses in Italy. The castle was built in the twelfth century by the Marquis del Carretto, a local feudal lord and was remodeled in 1630 and again in 1731. Now it is perfectly restored and habitable and is one of the best preserved in all of northern Italy. In all there are about 600 paintings many from 1500/1600, possibly some are quite valuable, 300 items of furniture dating from fifteenth century onwards, including Napoleon�s bed, all in perfect condition, and over 2,000 miscellaneous items, including some religious items, sculptures, clocks, tapestries, books, musical instruments, silverware, china, and candelabras. The castle is on three floors and has an attic and large wineries (at the same level of the courtyard - then can be used to derive reception hall for example). There is a bathroom on every floor and several fireplaces on each floor. The kitchen and the bathrooms, except the bathroom at ground floor, are functioning, but they should be replaced. The ground floor kitchen can be expanded using the two adjacent rooms. In addition to the castle, the property also includes two other houses. House of the factor: to be restructured: 200 square meters ten rooms + courtyard and meadows. Farmer's house: to be restructured: 200 square meters + garden. The first house is adjacent to the castle. The second house is outside the park (adjacent to the church - that is not part of the property) but both houses are inside the castle walls. The farmer's house, (behind the church), is still within the walls, and then simply open a port for connecting directly with the park of the castle. The property includes a lovely park approximately 5,000 m2, garden inside the courtyard, private chapel inside the castle and two houses. The castle is connected to the local gas network. The roof of the castle and of the two houses has been completely restored.
