Spanish Drivers in F2 Miki Monras / Los pilotos españoles en F2 Miki Monras

Miki Monras' racing career dates back to the age of eight, when by chance he was invited by current Toro Rosso F1 driver Jaime Alguersuari to take part in the Marc Gene karting trophy. Monras finished sixth, and in doing so laid the foundation for a glittering karting career that would see him crowned European and Spanish karting champion six years later in 2006.

2007 saw Monras gain yet more acclaim in karts as, aged just 15, he finished second in the European Championship and third in the World Series. Despite his young age such success prompted a move into single seaters, and in the latter part of the year he made his first steps in the Master Junior and Formula Renault 2.0 Italy Winter series.

Miki stayed in Formula Renault for the next two seasons and experienced great success - becoming the youngest driver to score a podium in the WEC series in 2008 despite competing against Red Bull reserve driver Daniel Ricciardo and 2010 British F3 Champion Jean-Eric Vergne. He then finished fourth in WEC in 2009 and fifth in the Eurocup class, taking a combined total of 11 podiums, 1 pole position and one fastest lap across the two championships.

2010 heralded a move into GP3 where Miki again met with success, ending the season tenth in the standings and as MW Arden's top driver. He scored two podiums, including a third at Spa-Francorchamps, and set the fastest lap at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya - both tracks F2 will visit in 2011.

2007 se Monrás ganar fama aún más en karts, con tan sólo 15 años, terminó segundo en el Campeonato de Europa y tercero en la Serie Mundial. A pesar de su corta edad tal éxito se le solicite un cambio en los monoplazas, y en la última parte del año en que dio sus primeros pasos en el Junior Master y Fórmula Renault 2.0 series de invierno de Italia.

Miki se quedó en la Fórmula Renault para las dos próximas temporadas y el gran éxito experimentado - convirtiéndose en el piloto más joven en marcar un podio en la serie de WEC en 2008 a pesar de competir contra Red Bull piloto reserva de Daniel Ricciardo y 2010 Campeón de la F3 británica Jean-Eric Vergne. A continuación, terminó cuarto en la WEC en 2009 y quinto en la clase de la Eurocup, teniendo un total de 11 podios, 1 pole position y una vuelta más rápida en los dos campeonatos.
