Libiya today - President Gaddafi Calls for Jihad Against Switzerland

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi called for jihad (holy struggle) against Switzerland for banning the construction of minarets last November. A top UN official said Gaddafi's call was "inadmissible" in the framework of international relations. 
 
Royal Navy frigate HMS Cumberland arrived alongside Malta in the early hours of this morning, carrying 207 people succesfully evacuated from Libya.

The 69 British nationals and 138 passengers from other nations were evacuated from Libya's second city, Benghazi, on Thursday 24 February 2011.
