In the heart of Paris, Matthew Morgan, an octogenarian American professor and widower, finds himself adrift since his wife's passing. With no grasp of French, he navigates a solitary existence until he crosses paths with Pauline Laubie, a vibrant dance instructor half his age. Drawn together by their shared solitude, Pauline becomes Matthew's lifeline, caring for him through a hospitalization.
However, when Matthew's skeptical adult children arrive from the US, tensions arise as they suspect Pauline of ulterior motives. Amidst familial discord and cultural divides, Pauline strives to bridge the gap, questioning if there's a place for her in Matthew's evolving world.
