At least six people are dead after a luxury cruise ship with 4,200 people aboard ran aground off the Tuscan coast, Italian media reported.

The Costa Concordia was on a trip around the Mediterranean when it hit a reef near the Isola del Giglio. The local mayor said he feared further casualties as it was proving difficult to rescue the last passengers.
Most of the 3200 passengers and 1000 crew members had been evacuated, but around 200 to 300 people were still on board, according to the prefect of the nearby city of Grosseto, Giuseppe Linardi.

Ricky & Sandra Married 22nd October 2011....Our honeymoon started aboard the Costa Concordia Cruise Ship...We boarded at Barcelona,cruised the Mediterranean, taking in Rome, Sicily Savona &, Malta. The ship and crew were fantastic and because of this we had the vacation of a lifetime.......Now that's what I call a room with a view!!!

At least six people are reported to have died after a cruise ship ran aground off the coast of Tuscany in Italy.

Coastguards were forced to evacuate more than 4,000 passengers and crew from the Costa Concordia, near to the island of Isola del Giglio.

The ship had sailed earlier on Friday from Civitavecchia port near Rome for a Mediterranean cruise. Passengers were eating dinner, when they heard a loud bang.
