A spokesperson for Vladimir Putin has denied claims made on Wednesday morning by the office of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko that the two men had agreed a “permanent ceasefire” in Ukraine's eastern Donbass region.
Initially Poroshenko's office released a statement claiming: "Mutual understanding was achieved concerning the steps which will enable the establishment of peace."
