Libya today - Defected Libya minister's spy links. Moussa Koussa is currently in England after Tunisia

Uploaded by on Mar 31, 2011
An insight into the past of defected foreign minister Moussa Koussa, who is now in the UK.

In one of the highest-level defections that occur in the environment of the ruling, the Foreign Minister of the regime of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, Moussa Kousser, left the government in Tripoli and fled to London.

U.S. authorities meanwhile, Kousser defined desertion as "highly significant" and an example of growing divisions within the Libyan government. Kousser was a close confidant of Gadhafi and served as intelligence chief for more than a decade.

The now former foreign minister declared that gave Gadhafi Libyan leader. For its part, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Great Britain reported that Kousser traveled to Tunisia from London on his own and told the authorities that he had resigned.

After the defection of Kousser, British authorities urged other supporters of Gadhafi to abandon their posts.

Meanwhile, the UK says it's not offering immunity to the Libyan foreign minister Moussa Koussa. He's arrived in Britain, saying he is no longer willing to work under the regime of Colonel Gaddafi. RT's Paula Slier has the latest from Tripoli. Also, Nathan Sassaman - author and a former troop commander in Iraq says there's no way the United States or anyone else can predict the consequences of supporting rebels in Libya.

Libya today - #havejustwatchedONtv - CNN Libyan Woman Struggles to Tell Media of Her Rape, burst in to the Rixos Hotel in Tripoli but dragged away by Gadaffi thugs

Uploaded by on Mar 26, 2011

Libyan Woman Struggles to Tell Media of Her Rape.

A Woman from Benghazi burst in to the Rixos Hotel in Tripoli. She wanted to talk to the foreign journalists but was dragged away to jail by armed waiters and guards.

"They say that we are all Libyans and we are one people," said the woman, who gave her name as Eman al-Obeidy, barging in during breakfast at the hotel dining room. "But look at what the Qaddafi men did to me." She displayed a broad bruise on her face, a large scar on her upper thigh, several narrow and deep scratch marks lower on her leg, and marks that seemed to come from binding around her hands and feet.

She said she had been raped by 15 men. "I was tied up, and they defecated and urinated on me," she said. "They violated my honor."

She pleaded for friends she said were still in custody. "They are still there, they are still there," she said. "As soon as I leave here, they are going to take me to jail."

For the members of the foreign news media here at the invitation of the government of Colonel Qaddafi — and largely confined to the Rixos Hotel except for official outings — the episode was a reminder of the brutality of the Libyan government and the presence of its security forces even among the hotel staff. People in hotel uniforms, who just hours before had been serving coffee and clearing plates, grabbed table knives and rushed to physically restrain the woman and to hold back the journalists.

Ms. Obeidy said she was a native of the rebel stronghold of Benghazi who had been stopped by Qaddafi militia on the outskirts of Tripoli. After being held for about two days, she said, she had managed to escape. Wearing a black robe, a veil and slippers, she ran into the Rixos Hotel here, asking specifically to speak to the news service Reuters and The New York Times. "There is no media coverage outside," she yelled at one point.

"They swore at me and they filmed me. I was alone. There was whiskey. I was tied up," she told Michael Georgy of Reuters, the only journalist who was able to speak with her briefly. "I am not scared of anything. I will be locked up immediately after this." She added: "Look at my face. Look at my back." Her other comments were captured by television cameras.

A wild scuffle began as journalists tried to interview, photograph and protect her. Several journalists were punched, kicked and knocked on the floor by the security forces , working in tandem with people who until then had appeared to be members of the hotel staff. A television camera belonging to CNN was destroyed in the struggle, and security forces seized a device that a Financial Times reporter had used to record her testimony. A plainclothes security officer pulled out a revolver.

. Two members of the hotel staff grabbed table knives to threaten both Ms. Obeidy and the journalists.

"Turn them around, turn them around," a waiter shouted, trying to block the foreign news media from having access to Ms. Obeidy. A woman on the staff shouted: "Why are you doing this? You are a traitor!" and briefly put a coat over Ms. Obeidy's head.

There was a prolonged standoff behind the hotel as the security officials apparently restrained themselves because of the presence of so many journalists, but Ms. Obeidy was ultimately forced into a white car and taken away.

"Leave me alone," she shouted as one man tried to cover her mouth with his hand.

"They are taking me to jail," she yelled, trying to resist the security guards, according to Reuters. "They are taking me to jail."

Questioned about her treatment, Khalid Kaim, the deputy foreign minister, promised that she would be treated in accordance with the law. Musa Ibrahim, a government spokesman, said she appeared to be drunk and mentally ill. "Her safety of course is guaranteed," he said, adding that the authorities were investigating the case, including the possibility that her reports of abuse were "fantasies."

Charles Clover of The Financial Times, who had put himself in the way of the security forces trying to apprehend her, was put into a van and driven to the border shortly afterward. He said that the night before he had been told to leave because of what Libyan government officials said were inaccuracies in his reports.

This article has been revised to reflect the following correction:

An earlier version of this article misstated the surname of a Financial Times reporter. He is Charles Clover, not Glover.

Weekly LoveCast® "Sun-Uranus conjunction in Aries and Moon in Scorpio intensify spontaneity and passion...."

By Cortney Litwin

March 21st -27th 2011

The Sun-Uranus conjunction in Aries and Moon in Scorpio intensify spontaneity and passion (or chaos and compulsiveness) at the start of the week. Multiple Fire placements midweek can inspire an adventurous rendezvous with your sweetie or friends. From Friday night through Sunday, afflicted Moon in Capricorn can bring up commitment or security issues, while Venus transiting into Pisces (Saturday night through April 19) heightens the fantasy, sensitivity and spiritual connections in relationships. Best days for socializing: Tuesday, Wednesday evening and Thursday.
.
Aries: The liberating Sun-Uranus conjunction in your sign can prompt you to do something brilliant, impulsive or foolhardy in your personal life, all in the name of freedom or self-expression. Your flirting skills will be especially strong. This weekend, a touch of fantasy or sensitivity can revitalize romance if an inner or outer block slows down love.
.
Taurus: Unconscious desires can make an appearance this week, so take some quiet time to get in touch with your inner life. A serene environment can bring out your lusty side at the beginning of the week, when your sensuality is particularly magnetic. Friends will provide support if you feel off balance this weekend, so surround yourself with positive people.
.
Gemini: Socializing can bring a surprise this week. Perhaps you’ll meet a potential paramour through a series of oddly connected events. Or a friend may surprise you with romantic intentions. At the very least, you’re likely to meet someone intensely intellectual, original, avant-garde or downright weird. This weekend, love may feel grounded, but a public event can still bring romance.
.
Cancer: The spotlight shines on you this week, especially when you’re at work or socializing with coworkers. Romance can be found through a colleague or during a party, especially at the start of the week, when passion sizzles! Emotionalism can unhinge love this weekend, unless you’re able to see the bigger picture of your relationship/love life.
.
Leo: A sudden psychic hunch about your future is likely this week, so heed your intuitive guidance. Exploring a new area can bring romance, especially on Wednesday night or Thursday. Sharing your knowledge will draw admirers, too. This weekend, responsibility or low energy can disrupt socializing. Being out in nature (with your sweetie?) will revitalize you.
.
Virgo: A spontaneous encounter can turn into a sexy romp, especially at the start of the week. Surprising your sweetie with something unexpected in the bedroom will set passion ablaze as well! Romance may be rocky this weekend, but Venus in Pisces during the next three weeks will sweeten your relationship (or help you attract someone new).
.
Libra: The Sun-Uranus conjunction electrifies your partnership sector, which can put some sizzle back into your relationship or bring a stunning insight about commitment/sharing. Verbalizing your feelings accelerates a romantic interlude on Wednesday night or Thursday. You may feel emotionally off balance this weekend. Still, a gesture of appreciation will inspire love.
.
Scorpio: Expressing your desires candidly can prompt a passionate encounter, especially at the beginning of the week, when your charisma skyrockets. Also, an unexpected situation at work may take you by surprise. During the weekend, rash words can disrupt socializing. Fortunately, Venus transiting through your romance sector for three weeks will energize your love life.
.
Sagittarius: An electrifying romantic encounter, prompted by exceptional chemistry or impulsiveness (or both!) is likely sometime this week. The relationship may be short-lived, though. Your humor and positive energy are especially magnetic midweek. A conflict between commitment and freedom can upset love this weekend, but throwing a party for friends will bring delight.
.
Capricorn: Heightened energy surrounding your home can intensify passion during a cozy tryst at your abode. Hosting a gathering of friends can bring satisfaction too. Your intuition is especially strong from Wednesday night through Friday. If you start to get rattled this weekend, expressing what’s in your heart will get you back on track emotionally.
.
Aquarius: Your brainpower hits a new high at the start of the week, when sharing your originality, humor or wisdom makes you irresistible! Socializing/networking can bring romance and other opportunities on Wednesday night or Thursday. You may feel unusually antsy this weekend. Discussing the past with close friends, in a serene environment, can be both fun and enlightening.
.
Pisces: A change of perception concerning your priorities can influence your love life (and other areas). An online romance may take off at the beginning of the week. If you’re paired, a romantic getaway can make love bloom. During the weekend, a friend may prove troublesome. On the upside, Venus in Pisces (through April 19) makes you a magnet for admirers!

War Crimes Bosnia and Herzegovina - next Gadaffi for his murder of Muslims in Libya? Rebels no just muslims that wanted democracy

the number of Muslims killed in Libya by Gadaffi are estimated to be in the region of 8,000 a figure similar to the number mentioned in the thrid paragraph here!

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article refers to genocide during the 1992-1995 Bosnian War.
A memorial to the victims of Srebrenica and other towns in Eastern Bosnia

The term Bosnian Genocide is used to refer either to the genocide committed by Bosnian Serb forces in Srebrenica in 1995, or to the ethnic cleansing campaign that took place throughout areas controlled by the Bosnian Serb Army during the 1992-1995 Bosnian War

The events in Srebrenica in 1995 included the killing of more than 8,000 Bosnian Muslims as well as the mass expulsion of another 25,000–30,000 Bosnians Muslims, in and around the town of Srebrenica in Bosnia and Herzegovina, committed by units of the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS) under the command of General Ratko Mladic'.

The ethnic cleansing campaign that took place throughout areas controlled by the Bosnian Serb Army targeted Bosnian Muslims and Bosnian Croats. The ethnic cleansing campaign included unlawful confinement, murder, rape, sexual assault, torture, beating, robbery and inhumane treatment of civilians; the targeting of political leaders, intellectuals and professionals; the unlawful deportation and transfer of civilians; the unlawful shelling of civilians; the unlawful appropriation and plunder of real and personal property; the destruction of homes and businesses; and the destruction of places of worship.

In the 1990s, several authorities, in line with a minority of legal scholars, asserted that ethnic cleansing as carried out by elements of the Bosnian Serb army was genocide. These included a resolution by the United Nations General Assembly and three convictions for genocide in German courts, (the convictions were based upon a wider interpretation of genocide than that used by international courts).  In 2005, the United States Congress passed a resolution declaring that "the Serbian policies of aggression and ethnic cleansing meet the terms defining genocide".

However, in line with a majority of legal scholars, the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ) have ruled that, in order for actions to be deemed genocide, there must be physical or biological destruction of a protected group and a specific intent to commit such destruction. To date, only the Srebrenica massacre has been found to be a genocide by the ICTY, a finding upheld by the ICJ.

CNN reports the Pentagon and NATO are ready to send troops into Libya under the cover of humanitarian assistance. CNN underscores the situation by stating that reports say Gaddafi will fight to the end and will seek martyrdom.

Military intervention "is something which I hope doesn't happen, but it looks as though at some point that it should happen," Simon Henderson, senior fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, told CNN.

Catherine Ashton, the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union, says the globalists are working on a response to the Libya crisis.

The Washington Institute for Near East Policy is a fanatical neocon operation. It supports the positions of the Likud and other racist warmongers in Israel. It was founded by Martin Indyk, the former research director of AIPAC.

WINEP is also involved with the Council on Foreign Relations in policymaking on the bogus war on manufactured terrorism and the intelligence created network of radical Islamists.

"What's an acceptable number of civilian deaths? I don't know. Choose your figure," Henderson said. "At the very least, instead of having a casualty list certainly in the hundreds, possibly in the thousands, we don't want a casualty list numbering in the tens of thousands, or 100,000 or so."

WINEP was intimately involved with Douglas Feith's Office of Special Plans making the case -- including cooking up bogus intelligence and scary WMD stories -- for the illegal invasion of Iraq that ultimately resulted in the murder of over a million Iraqis, so any crocodile tears over the lives of Arabs is disingenuous, to say the least.

As world leaders united to demand that Muammar Gaddafi face the full consequences of what Barack Obama called the "brutalisation" of his people, the defence secretary, Liam Fox, confirmed that the rescue had been a success, so far.

It is believed that units of British special forces secured runways to allow the Hercules aircraft to land safely.

Tony Blair has become an adviser to Colonel Gaddafi, the Libyan dictator's son has sensationally claimed.

Saif al-Islam Gaddafi said the former prime minister has secured a consultancy role with a state fund that manages the country's £65billion of oil wealth.

In an exclusive interview, Saif described Mr Blair as a 'personal family friend' of the Libyan leader and said he had visited the country 'many, many times' since leaving Downing Street three years ago.
