#Spain - election: Conservatives win, but without majority: Al Jazeera English

Published on 27 Jun 2016
Spain’s political deadlock is likely to continue as the conservative Popular Party (PP) failed to win a majority needed to form a government on its own.

Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy will need to assemble a coalition with the socialists or the centrist Ciudadanos party.

It's just six months since the last general election, which saw a four-way split in the vote and political deadlock.

Al Jazeera’s Neave Barker reports from Madrid.
