Fresh airstrikes hit ISIL targets in Syria, as new countries consider giving support. France on high alert security alert after ISIL threats (4th video)

Fresh airstrikes have reportedly hit more suspected fighters from the Islamic State militant movement in Syria.

Five strikes are reported near the Iraqi border and others near the Turkish border.

This as reports in Britain say parliament could be recalled as early as Friday to vote on a plan to join airstrikes also taking place in Iraq.

France is on high security alert after threats made by the Islamic State militant movement.

Soldiers are patrolling key sites, as Paris vows to continue its fight against the militants.

French Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said: "Iraq has called on us to help with air support for the military action on the ground by the Iraqi troops and the troops from Kurdistan, and of course we will continue airstrikes in the coming days."
