"The Light Thief" trailer - in UK Cinemas Friday 29th July 2011 - Starring: Aktan Arym Kubat, Taalaikan Abazova, Askat Sulaimanov, Asan Amanov, Stanbek Toichubaev

In this colourful modern-day parable of good and evil, a humble village electrician devotes his compassion and ingenuity to destitute neighbours in a wind-swept valley of Kyrgyzstan. Like moths, everybody is drawn to his kindness: those with short circuits in their electricity, and those with short circuits in their marriage, those who have taken all the power in the city, and those who have given up the will to live.

Played with wry humanity by writer-director Aktan Arym Kubat, the trusting electrician "Mr. Light" strikes a suspect bargain with a rich developer running for local office, as unemployment threatens the survival of the community. Stoking a dream to supply wind-generated electricity to the whole valley, the modest visionary comes up against an increasingly dark cloud of corruption in this affecting tale of solidarity and ordinary decency amid the injustices and hardships of a changing world.

"Our Day Will Come" trailer - in UK Cinemas Friday 29th July 2011 - Starring: Vincent Cassel, Olivier Barthelemy, Justine Lerooy, Vanessa Decat, Boris Gamthety:

Uploaded by on Apr 23, 2011
Officially selected for the main competition at CPH PIX 2011.
THE M.I.A clip for "BORN FREE" become a MOVIE! The immaculate Vincent Cassel (Black Swan, Mesrine, Irreversible) is collaborating with renowned director Romain Gavras, who turned YouTube upside down with his hard-boiled and controversial music video for M.I.A.'s 'Born Free', where a fascist government detains the red-haired in concentration camps, and thereby indirectly creates a guerilla army of terrorists/freedom fighters, dressed in strawberry helmets and ammunition belts. 'Our Day Will Come' is a kind of feature film sequel, though now with humour. The red-haired teenage thug Remy lives in a terraced house and spends his days fighting with his mother, his sister and the local hooligans. One day, Remy meets the charismatic psychologist/psychopath, Patrick (Vincent Cassel), who decides to systematically test his young prodigy's limits. Soon, the two of them establish a 'red front' in a revolutionary struggle for recognition, and for an independent state in the holy land of red-heads: Ireland. A hopeless escape from a more or less imagined enemy, leaving a trail of minor destruction and bizarre behaviour behind them. The clash of civilisations is just around the corner in Gavras's witty and provo-cynical allegory of everyone's struggle against everyone, in an age where the majority is a minority, and it is cool to stand out.

Foreign Bride scams. Warnings about agencies that use affiliate offices

Uploaded by on Mar 20, 2010
Warnings about agencies that use affiliate offices

The most common problem with affiliate agencies is their goal to make as much money as possible, as opposed to finding you a soul mate. First of all, posting a no-scam policy on their websites does not stop the affiliates from running major scams. The main web site has no idea who is writing the letters to the male clients, nor do they really care. Most of these affiliates work with 10 to 20 agencies, sending out thousands of letters each day from just one female client.
.
Some offices have one woman corresponding with hundreds and hundreds of men simultaneously, never allowing you to contact them directly. This is because the women have NO IDEA who you are. On top of it all, they make you pay $75 or more for an introduction. The translator in the office can then brief the women on exactly what she has been saying to you.

Russell Grant’s Daily Horoscopes for Monday 1st August 2011

.

Aries (Mar21/Apr20) Resist the impulse to buy a lover’s affection, as an extravagant gesture will make your partner uncomfortable. If you want to show your affection, do something simple like make a card, mixed CD, or delicious dessert for your special someone. A personally made gift will be far more meaningful than an expensive trinket from the jewellery store. If things continue to go well, you can splurge for something more lavish. Right now keep things simple and sentimental.
 .
Taurus (Apr21/May21) Spending private time at home gives you tremendous pleasure and if you could work from home, you would. Being able to operate in comfortable surroundings makes you far more productive. Your place is so beautiful and comfortable that people are always lobbying for invitations. In fact, a pushy relative may try to strong arm their way into your guest room or onto your couch. Be polite but firm in your refusal. Your home is your castle and you won’t have it stormed.
 .
Gemini (May22/Jun21) Don’t let someone pressure you into making a contribution. Someone with a terrible sob story will try to make you feel guilty for not donating to a charitable fund. The truth is you want to support different causes. Not only that, you don’t like the person who is soliciting you for money. You might feel inclined to help if a nicer person was promoting this cause. As it stands you’d rather spend your hard earned money on a fund closer to your heart.
 .
Cancer (Jun22/Jul23) Your self esteem is intimately connected to your income. Stop comparing your financial situation to that of an affluent friend. Just because you make less doesn’t mean you are unimportant. On the contrary, you play a vital part in your social circle. People look to you for moral leadership. That may not seem like a big deal to you, but your friends think you’re invaluable. Fortunately, an exciting career opportunity is about to open up. Emphasise your unique abilities when interviewing for this position.
 .
Leo (Jul24/Aug23) The milk of human kindness flows through your veins. Unfortunately, your boss knows this and tries to take advantage of your generosity. Stop agreeing to cover for absent colleagues. An exciting opportunity to travel abroad will fall into your lap. Don’t let your employer give you a guilt trip for going away. You have every right to a break, and should enjoy your trip to the fullest. Someone will have to assume your responsibilities while you’re away.
 .
Virgo (Aug24/Sep23) Break free of a teacher or guru who has undue influence over your decisions. You have wonderful instincts and need to trust them. This is especially true regarding money. Putting your resources into a low interest, long term savings account will protect you against lean times to come. Just the knowledge of having a nest egg will be very comforting. It will give you the freedom to choose rewarding work, fulfilling relationships, and a relaxing lifestyle.
 .
Libra (Sep24/Oct23) Neither a lender nor a borrower be; if a friend asks you to go into business together, prepare to say no. You should keep your hard earned money in the bank. Throwing it into a questionable gesture in a shaky economy is a bad idea. Besides, getting financially involved with a loved one is a recipe for disaster. Your lover is preparing an exciting surprise for you. Prepare to try something new, like an extreme sport or exotic cuisine. You’ll be glad you took the plunge.
 .
Scorpio (Oct24/Nov22) You’re star is on the rise, especially with the powers that be. Your peers are a little jealous of your success. Although you don’t have to justify your behaviour to anyone, it is important to forge stronger relationships with your colleagues. Praise their contributions whenever you meet with your boss. You shouldn’t lie or exaggerate, but you should give credit where credit is due. Step up your exercise routine. Walking or jogging will give you a sexy glow.
 .
Sagittarius (Nov23/Dec21) Cutting back your daily spending will give you more money for an overseas trip. Brew your own coffee, take a sandwich to work, and borrow books and movies from the library. Little cost saving measures like this will add up over time. A romantic attraction will spring up very quickly. The two of you have known each other for years and have always been good friends. Recently you’ve started to entertain romantic thoughts about your old pal.
 .
Capricorn (Dec22/Jan20) This isn’t a good time to spend money on luxuries. You should keep a tight rein on your spending, as big bills are on the horizon. Costly home repairs will force you to dig down deep to rectify an electrical, heating, or plumbing problem. Fortunately, you’ll find an expert who is able to come out and fix the issue in record time. Stay focused on what is going right, instead of what’s going wrong. Panicking will only complicate a stressful situation.
 .
Aquarius (Jan21/Feb19) You’re very generous towards your relatives, but there needs to be limit to what you give, both in terms of time and money. There’s only so much you have to offer, and when you give everything to your relatives, there is nothing left for your personal life. If you’re single, it may be because you’re devoting so much time to your family. Good news about a business deal is on the way. Getting this phone call, text or email will cause you to breathe a huge sigh of relief.
 .
Pisces (Feb20/Mar20) Don’t lord your accomplishments over a colleague. Yes, you’re a lot more productive and talented than they are, but they already know this. In fact, that’s why the two of you quarrel all the time. Your work partner is jealous of you, and tries to compensate by berating your contributions. You take their remarks to heart and fester with hostility. Channel your energy in a more positive direction. An exciting work assignment will suddenly become available; throw your hat in the ring.
.

Russell Grant's Daily Horoscopes for Sunday July 31st 2011

.

Aries (Mar21/Apr20) Lend some extra support to your best friend, lover, or business partner. By taking some chores off their plate, they will be able to enjoy a little leisure time. It's so important for the two of you to make time for fun or your bond will become one of obligation, not mutual respect. Fortunately, you'll get an extra burst of energy, allowing you to finish both your tasks and those of your friend. Don't worry; your partner will soon return the favour when you're tired.
 .
Taurus (Apr21/May21) You're an integral part of a project's success and nobody's work ethic is stronger than yours. Putting in long hours, helping your colleagues, and learning different aspects of the industry will fill every second of your time. You'll even be asked to spend the weekend poring over papers and tying up loose ends. The good news is there is a promotion in the cards. Moving in to the corner office will give you a great deal of pride. It will also cause your stature to rise at home.
 .
Gemini (May22/Jun21) A serious relationship is in the works; in the past, you were reluctant to settle down. Now you're eager to commit to someone who brings new meaning to your life. When you're with your amour, it feels like anything is possible. You'll be able to develop your creativity, travel to exotic lands, and get an advanced degree. In the past, you had trouble with lovers who resented your intelligence. That's not the case now. Actually, your intelligence is a big turn on.
 .
Cancer (Jun22/Jul23) Creating a secure home life is your first priority. If you don't own your place, now is a good time to buy one. You'll find one in a refined neighbourhood that allows you to socialise with very prominent neighbours. Granted, you'll have to spend a little more money than you expected, but a generous relative will help with the deposit. Already have your own home? Start putting some money into savings. Having a retirement or university fund will give you peace of mind.
 .
Leo (Jul24/Aug23) Taking a trip for business is favoured and you're sure to make some valuable business contacts. Someone who is renowned for their fairness will become your biggest fan. Thanks to their influence, you can get a raise, promotion, or high powered position. There's a good chance you'll be offered a teaching position. Students respond well to your flair for the dramatic. No subject is dry when you're presiding over the classroom. If you play your cards right, you'll get to teach the advanced students.
 .
Virgo (Aug24/Sep23) Working hard to make ends meet isn't new to you. Lately, it feels like you have to scrape and save just to afford the bare necessities. Still, you get great satisfaction from operating on a strict budget. You're so good at being frugal that you're actually able to afford the occasional luxury. The good news is this period of deprivation won't last for long. In fact, it's about to end in a few months. When this happens, you'll have more resources available for travel and study.
 .
Libra (Sep24/Oct23) You're tired of letting your talent go to waste; finding an outlet for your artistic side is critical. Fortunately, you have a lot of well connected friends who can get you a position at a theatre, gallery, or publishing house. Beware of biting off more than you can chew. You're undeniably capable, but you have a tendency to do more work than one person can handle. Again, rely on your nearest and dearest when you're overwhelmed. It takes a village, people!
 .
Scorpio (Oct24/Nov22) A deep, satisfying physical relationship gives you a sexy sparkle. Don't be surprised when you turn heads at a big social gathering. Everyone wants to be seen in your company. If you need a favour, now is the time to ask for one. It will be impossible to resist your charm. You possess a dark, mysterious brand of glamour that makes you especially popular on the romantic front. While it's nice to be in demand, you prefer to focus all of your attention on your beloved.
 .
Sagittarius (Nov23/Dec21) Working with a group of people teaches you some valuable skills. Several members of your team are respected experts. By working alongside these teachers, you'll become a lot more polished and sophisticated. You've always been admired for your energy and enthusiasm. Acquiring finesse will make you even more successful. A legal matter will be decided in your favour, giving you money to travel. Visit a city known for its glitz and glamour. You're tired of doing the same thing day after day.
 .
Capricorn (Dec22/Jan20) An exciting career opportunity is on the horizon, and you can't let it slip through your fingers. Even if it is the weekend, you can still perfect your CV and gather impressive work samples. Practice your interviewing skills with someone who has lots of experience hiring people. Their advice will be invaluable. At first, some of their comments will sting. Don't let pride get in the way of perfecting your performance. There's too much at stake here.
 .
Aquarius (Jan21/Feb19) Getting a change of scenery will improve your personal and professional lives. You never know whom you'll meet while taking a plane, train, or taxi. Have a supply of business cards with you at all times. Someone with a fabulous mane of hair will make a pass at you. Normally, you would be outraged at such bold behaviour. There's something about this flirt that melts your defences. Together, you will make a striking couple. Talk about a study in contrasts!
 .
Pisces (Feb20/Mar20) Financial security allows you to find a fulfilling job and any position related to the performing arts is favoured. You could also make a good living looking after people's children, pets, and plants. Granted, your regular job won't bring in lots of money, but it will help you cover your bills. Any shortfalls will be covered by a dividend, legal settlement, or insurance settlement. Don't dip into your emergency account unless it is absolutely necessary. That way, your fund will gather interest and keep you safe.
